We also host a number of walks around Purfleet-on-Thames exploring the surprisingly interesting history of the area. These include specific explorations of the cultural and military heritage and, in conjunction with RSPB Rainham Marshes, the remaining buildings of the Purfleet Firing Range.
Our most popular walks explore the local ghost stories and folklore, and the town's links to Dracula. Would you like the opportunity to stand in Dracula's front garden or learn how to avoid the lantern men?
These immersive walks guide you through the historic streets, river paths, and hidden corners of our local area. They blend documented history, folklore, and first-hand accounts to create an evening that is as informative as it is unsettling.
From the banks of the Thames to the remnants of military installations, each stop reveals a layer of the past that refuses to stay buried. Our knowledgeable guides bring these stories to life—stories of tragedy, mystery, and unexplained encounters that have been reported for generations.
Whether you’re a seasoned paranormal enthusiast or simply curious, our ghost walks offer a unique way to engage with Purfleet’s heritage.
Details of upcoming walks are below, or, if you have sufficient numbers, can be booked for other dates to suit you.
These depart from the Heritage Centre at dusk so times vary by date. High vis vests are provided and visitors are requested to bring a torch. They are priced at £5 per person which is payable on booking and non-refundable.

These can be run on any day of the week provided they are pre-booked and have sufficient numbers (minimum 10).
School, Scouting, Cadets, U3A and other adult groups welcome, contact us using the button below to discuss organising your walk and pricing.
"I attended the Dracula walk with friends and I have been on the ghost walk as well. The work the team do is absolutely outstanding..."
